About Me

My photo
Wes Loder
In 2003, I came back to photography through the Nikon Historical Society where I found my interest in history and Nikons met. In this blog I intend to comment on my cameras, their auxiliary equipment and on my photography. I am the author of The Nikon Camera in America, 1946-1953, which gives a detailed account of how various Americans helped the Japanese camera industry recover from World War II and go on to dominate the world of photographic equipment. The book came out from McFarland Publishers in 2008 and is available through any of the usual bookstores or jobbers. I am Pipe Major of the Hawk Mountain Highlanders, a pipe band based in Schuylkill County, Pennsylvania. Its has its blog. I comment on my writing, my other photography and progress toward living a life with as low an impact on the land as possible at my third blog
